Carolina Alfaro de Carvalho is a native bilingual speaker of Portuguese and Spanish with BA and MA degrees in English-Portuguese Translation. She has been a professional translator since 1996 and began work in subtitling in 1997. She has worked with Brazilian distributors of theatrical films, DVD and cable TV, as well as corporate clients. She has translated a wide range of feature films, sitcoms, and documentaries in her three working languages. Since 2005 she has also been teaching translation and subtitling techniques through classroom and distance courses. She has lived in Toronto, Canada, since 2007, and is one of Bianca Bold‘s partners at Scriba Traduções.
